The Abbey Lodge Inn – Woodhall Spa

Really nice friendly pub.

It's been about 13 years since we visited this pub and its welcome hasn't changed. Friendly staff and landlord make the visit a pleasant experience. Didn't eat there this time around but thoroughly enjoyed a lunchtime drink here following a long walk.

We booked an early evening meal, as it was my husband's birthday. We hadn't been there before, so thought we'd give it a try. The menu is good, plenty of choice. Reasonably priced. There was also a lower cost for some sweets, if you had a half serving, which suited us, as you don't really need a large sweet, after a meal. The staff were all friendly, and my husband even got a free drink, with it being his birthday! Lovely atmosphere, even most of the guests were friendly and said hello. We will definitely go there again, and we would recommend it to others.

Had a stop over for the night in the motorhome .food . service. And the landlord and his wife Very friendly.will be back . cheers Ray

Lovely food here Enjoyed a lovely evening meal with family here. Well worth a visit. 2nd time l we have eaten here and definately would again on our next visit

Mum and daughter time Went for Sunday lunch and it was beautiful. We had sirloin beef roast potatoes, mashed potatoes. Yorkshire pudding. five different vegetables in a separate bowl all so gravy in gravy bowl absolutely perfect. Service from everybody was very good. Will definitely be returning.

Homemade delicious food, generous portions. Typical English pub vibe. Really enjoyed would come again.

The food is outstandingly good proper home cooked tasty quality delicious and the menu is great. The staff are extremely friendly relax and full of smiles. Loads of seating options and full of charm. Could tell this Inn is great as locals use it and all as warm and friendly as the staff/owner's

Fish pie was excellent... Asked for some online recommendations and this was given by a few....great choice, lovely atmosphere, delicious food and very reasonably priced. We were visiting Woodhall Spa for the evening but will definitely travel over to eat here again!

Best chips ever We went back to The Abbey Lodge, we’ve never had a bad meal. A wide menu which is well presented and service excellent. My father in law’s 95th birthday treat; he said they were the best chips he has ever had.

Passed this pub some years ago but never visited.Was not disappointed tonight when visiting with family. Cod in cheese sauce with prawns, special Thai red curry (salmon & prawn). With a children’s meal and chicken goujons. Food excellent along with the service and lovely atmosphere.

Delightful Sunday Lunch We were staying at the nearby Woodhall Country Park and on our last day, we were looking for a nice Sunday Lunch before returning home. I chose Abbey Lodge as they could cater for my " Gluten Free" requirements. On arrival, we booked in at the bar, and ordered drinks from the very pleasant and welcoming chap behind who also directed to our reserved table...where the Menus were already in place. The Inn is very homely and decorated to feel cosy. The Waitress came promptly to take our orders, I chose not to have a Starter...but ordered the Gluten Free Roast Beef...my Husband ordered a Crispy Prawn starter and my Son ordered the Stilton Mushrooms. They arrived quickly and were devoured with both parties declaring them very good. The Mains arrived, my Roast Beef and both my Husband and Son had opted for the Homemade Beef Pie. My plate also had a Gluten Free Yorkshire Pudding and Roast Potatoes and Parsnips...the other two plates also had Roast Potatoes and Parsnips The accompanying vegetables were brought out, Carrots, Broccoli, Cabbage, Mashed Potato and Leeks in Cheese Sauce ( not Gluten free) but I was more than happy with the choice of Vegetables. There was also 2 boats of gravy...one Gluten Free. The beef was slightly pink and beautifully tender and the vegetables extremely fresh and tasty. My Husband and Son both thoroughly enjoyed the pies which they said were delicious. None of Us had room for a Dessert as We were full.. a pity as they all sounded luscious All in all it was a lovely meal, service was attentive, without being overbearing, Staff were friendly and cheerful and the food was plentiful and of a very good quality . We were impressed and we would definitely visit again if we return to the area.

Warm and welcoming What a great find! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, it seemed to be a mix of locals and visitors, with several tables reserved. Luckily we found one free, and were able to order from a good and varied menu. We both chose home made smoked haddock fishcakes and were not disappointed. The service was efficient and the food delicious - they were accompanied by a homemade hot parsley sauce, salad and chips. The beer was clear and well-kept - all in all a very enjoyable visit.

We enjoyed dining at this traditional country inn. The food and service was very good and the pub was very homely with log fires. Our visit was mid week and just after a Bank Holiday so it was quiet hence the lower rating for atmosphere.

Friendly staff and great food Lovely friendly local pub just outside of the village. You can walk it in 20 mins from Sainsbury’s. Fish and chips was very tasty and a full plate. My wife had the chicken and bacon Caesar salad which was good as well, two desserts and drinks, £65. I would recommend this.

Good gluten free pub nice old fashioned pub with good service and varied menu , best gluten free menu I’ve ever seen at a pub , had the fish and chips off the gluten free menu it was really good

Fabulous friendly pub with wonderful food. The landlady was so accomodating, we changed our booking from 4 plus a baby to 9 plus a baby and nothing was too much of a problem. The home made pies are delicious made by her son, and the puddings are enormous and you must save space to enjoy one. We stayed overnight in our motorhome and felt very safe and secure.

Home cooked food need I say more, very friendly proper old fashioned pub 👍👍👍
